study virus

muse band concert today..got to do my maths tutorials soon.. it just struck me..actually not just, quite a long time ago, tt our education system needs some polishing up to do.. according to some frank opinions, it is said tt it lacks critical thinking and fresh ideas due to the teachers' constant spoon-feeding (we even did an essay on tt in gp.. on how bad it is for teachers to spoonfeed and our gp teacher is actually giving us the answers to almost everything. irony huh? anw, tt's just one pt. based on another reliable source, the education here is in cycles. what you learn in primary sch cannot be applied to secondary sch and same for secondary sch to jc. rmb how the teachers always say ' you don't have to learn this now.. it will be taught in higher education' or ' this concept is too difficult. don't waste your time learning it. the university lecturers will teach next time' How on earth do you expect pple to really rmb and seriously learn how to learn and apply knowledge when they grow up? this is ridiculous right? as a student myself, and if you have learnt ss yourself, you shld know tt this is indeed not a bias source at all..but a ranting from a student irritated with the education system, who just needs to let out her humble and honest feelings. digest these.

Settler's.. dice for food?

everyone in this whole blooming wide world should go to settler's cafe!!! the one either in clarke quay or holland v. (which is nearer to sch.) anw, better clarke quay cos there's more games and atmosphere there. Lhachea, not the entire og though, went to settler's cafe today..whew..was great and terribly awesome fun.. chee wei..you missed so much for shopping.. sigh.. oh well.. ate kinda cheap food for cafe standards and played fast and really quite interestingly violent games like 'apples to apples', 'pit' and one other trading 'some what like heart attack' game. really cool air-conditioned place fit for anyone who is not square. took loads of photos.. wld try to put them up asap.. if i can figure of imagestn first.. monday.. would meet my new class.hope it's not too cliquekish.. i like class unity at all times.

My Precious...

watched 'the italian job', 'colleteral' and 'LOTR return of the king' at dajie's house today.. pretty slumberish atmosphere you get there..which is a good thing for watching movies. her mum's food rocks.. ha. the extended version of lotr is super cool.. you actually wonder how much did they cut off from the actual movie in the theatre cos' there's not really a head and a tail.. just some surgeon who decided to cut up portions and sew the rest up together..if you know what i mean. tt's why legolas was mostly missing in part 3 of the trilogy.. because he was cut off most of the time! sigh.. might be a long time till i see dajie again... erjie too.. but it's a diff kinda friendship yah? known both of them at diff times.. so of course.. love you both all the same ( :

The CAGE

went to drama yesterday.. cleaned up the cage (what the store room for props and costumes is called) tough time clearing the place, esp when the job includes dragging out about 30 big, actually humongous plastic boxes with over 15 kg of load each up and out of the cage, down the stairs to the corridor where we sort and fold the costumes, then drag all 30 boxes up the stairs, into and down the cage.. my goodness..manual labour is good exercise, but i'll rather sweep the whole humongous room.. though it is humanly impossible to sweep, or even vacuum all the dust out of tt room.. gg to eat mos burger with mum today, so no drama.. still suffering from a terrible headache, which the bang from hitting the walkway top while climbing over the backgate gave me.. ouch. it was only after i climbed tt my friend found out tt the backgate was opened.. silly me.. feel like knocking my head against the wall, but the headache is enough for today.

rooted to the Ground

yay! i can get my mp3 player! all thks to my parents, my aunt and my hard-earned savings (actually only 10%) going to stay in ac in case everyone is asking. yup. why? (1) i can fly there in 10 seconds( if i can ever flap my arms) (2) i love the vibrant culture (3) besides the first period on monday, i can stand all the other lectures and tutorials (4) i love ac's student council (5) my bro's from there ..hehe.. tt's not a good reason..but he's talk of ac made me think tt it's more than what pple call a playschool.. i mean..c'mon.. every school has to have at least some extend of fun..it's how the pple inside the school control/balance the fun that matters.. so.. if you come to ac, bear with the thought that studies should always come first before play, no matter how tempting it is.. cos you will never stop playing once you start!

fallen soup chicken ( translate into chinese?)

council. cool. crazy?. cannot be. ha.. had interview today..scared stiff changed my voice to low pitch involuntarily.. was quite ok.. besides the fact that there are 5 pple, which includes a male unfamiliar teacher staring at you from bout 6 metres away.. so it seems like you're on a small pulau and pple are just looking at you like a pitiful zoo animal..muahaha..sorry.. shld'nt say until so exaggerating.. but it was ok.. managed to answer all their questions, though the adrenaline shortened my vocab to about 50 words, including 'responsible' and 'initiative', which i repeated like over ten times in ten minutes. haha . had pe today.. learnt more or less how to swim freestyle properly.. at least i don't have my jaw so crammed up now when i open my mouth to breathe. nearly cramped up while doing the trials. tmr is arts night..wonder whether i shld wear retro..haha. me in afro? nah.

Fantalicious

the atmosphere was as usual as every yr : palpable. though i did'nt feel it until the end. 2nd last to receive results all the time.. better than first anw. at least pple ard me did'nt cry before the results were let out.. i promised myself tt i wld hide in a corner of the hall reading my lotr book if so. ha. results are acceptable. i lowered my expectations to about 19 so that getting anything above that would'nt be so high a probability, and getting anything below that would immediately make me estatic. ha. today was founder's day.. kinda long and draggy..hehe. but the primary kids were so cute.
